The Ultimate Guide To Boracay’s Nightlife

By
Paul Fournier

Boracay is well known for its vibrant, seven days a week nightlife. There are many different nightlife venues to choose from – from wild parties, to bars, to lounges with live music…

Knowing that, how do you find the places that best fit your likes? Read on to find out…

In this guide I list and describe 98% of Boracay’s nightlife venues that matter, so that you can easily find the clubs, bars, lounges and parties that fit your style.

Note : Due to changes in Boracay, some details in this guide are out-of-date. Updates are underway. That said, the guide should still be helpful and informative in its current form.

Boracay’s Clubs

Boracay’s nightclubs become busy around 12:00 midnight as most people move from the bars to the clubs. I’ve embedded videos of most of them so that you can get a good impression of what they are like.

The music they play varies, none of them always play the same style of music. If you prefer a certain kind of music it’s best to check out the Facebook pages of the clubs. There you can often see what they will be playing.

Epic

Epic sits right in the center of Boracay, next to D’mall and in front of the Beach in Station 2.

During the day it’s a resto-bar, and as the night progresses they move most tables out of the way and turn the place into a club with a dance floor. They often extend the dance floor onto the beach.

It’s one of the more classy clubs in terms of looks.

Lounges and Live Music

I personally love live music and most lounges that I cover here have that. Boracay has quite a few more lounges then the ones I cover here though, and I will be adding them as I visit and explore more of them.

Bom Bom Bar

Bom Bom is a lounge with a great vibe. I personally love the look of the place and the live music completes the whole picture. It’s a great place to relax and just hang out with some friends.

Hobbit House

Hobbit House is another place with live music, that’s the main reason why I included it. It’s actually not really a lounge, it’s more like a restaurant with a small bar.

The music makes this a relaxing place though, that’s why I included this atmospheric place in the lounges section.

Happy Hour:5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Drink Prices:San Miguel Beer: P66
Rum Coke: P137 / 2 for 1
Live Music:7:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Parties and Events

If you like to dance to good music then Boracay’s parties are not something you want to miss out on.

These parties are only thrown periodically and to keep a pulse on when they are happening it’s best to like their Facebook pages. That way you will be notified when events are organized.

Manic Monkey

Manic Monkey is an all around one stop shop for all things party. They do regular events but also specialty parties… such as engagement, birthday and just for the fun of it parties.

Their regular events change each season since they like to keep things fresh and fun. To find out what events they are currently organizing, check out their Facebook page.

The picture above is from a day trip to a private beach on a neighboring island.

Area 51

  1. What an awesome review! Never read such a well laid out and informative guide on nitelife ever! Will be using this on my next visit for sure! Awesome work man.

  2. Hey paul, i’ve been searching for bar or restaurant for a birthday celebration of my friend. We are all 5 pinay.. I checkout all your post about nightlife and i’m still confused on where to go. Any suggestion from what you’ve been posted?? Hoping for your response!

    Best Regards,
    Madz

    • Hi Madz, to suggest something I haven’t covered in the guide yet… If you like Karaoke, a favorite of many pinay is Live City Karaoke Bar.

Other then that I feel Bom Bom Bar will be a good choice. They serve good food, play live music, and it’s a great place to hang out with friends.

      You could combine the two.

  3. Awesome job Paul !
When is the best period during the year to go to Boracay ? When are focused parties ?

    Thank you
    Best regards,
    Francesca

    • Hey Francesca, basically any time during the winter in the northern hemisphere (Nov – Feb) is a good time for the nightlife in Boracay.

Partly because the nationalities that visit Boracay during that time like to party a lot more then the nationalities that visit during other times. So you will see more parties and nightlife activity as a result.

It’s also high season, so more people in general.

  4. Hi there! Awesome info provided! I was just wondering if you could recommend any cool parties going around for New Year’s Eve?

    • Hi Gaby, thanks. I usually go bar hopping and go with the vibe, wherever I’m feeling that the most. But if you’re looking for big parties then Epic usually throws big ones on New Years eve.

Another place that I haven’t mentioned in the guide is the pool parties at The Tides Hotel. They have a rooftop with dancing area, pool, foam and all that good stuff…

They’re worth checking out also, You can keep tabs on what they’re organizing on their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/tidesboracay/

Other then that, I recommend checking the Facebook pages from the venues that you like in this guide – to see what they’re up to. There are lots of parties all around.

  5. HI I just recently reading out some of your blogs and tell you this is the most informative I have read. I booked a flight going to Boracay 2nd week of June. I know it’s off peak But I will celebrate my birthday alone. I wonder what you can you recommend for me to do when night time arrives. I am a party goer and do laid back too. But do you know any bar that doesn’t judge, being their alone? Or anything that you can suggest for a perfect one man vacation

    • Hi Jazel, glad it’s useful to you! The nightlife is pretty quiet in June. But the best bar that I can recommend for meeting new people is Exit Bar (after 9-10 pm).

Also, since low season has a relatively quiet nightlife it can be good to bar hop around to find a place that’s vibing. In Station 2 there are many bars within close proximity of each other, so it’s easy to hop around there.

About going out alone. I like to do that personally, and I never feel judged because of it. As long as you’re being social and having a good time, it doesn’t matter.

  6. Thanks for the info Paul. I’ll be heading over May19-29th. A little solo action….maybe it won’t be to dead for a 39 yr old who can still rage. 🙂

    • Hey Brian, it’s the tail of the Philippine summer (March to May – the time Filipinos like to go on vacation). Nightlife will be more quiet towards the end of May (starts later and less people) but weather is still good, and you’ll have a more peaceful White Beach to enjoy. Not a bad time to go.

  7. Hi,

I and my friend likes edm or deep focus music and party. We are planning to go this coming March. Any suggestion, where to go? which station has that most scene?

    • Hi Miehl, I think you will enjoy the sunset sessions at Conga’s Bar. They also throw parties periodically. Their music style is mostly alternative edm, no commercial music. Area 51 also plays good edm music during their full moon parties. Aplaya and Exit Bar do too, but not always.

You can see the locations of those places on the nightlife map.

Other then that, for relaxing on the beach with good electronic music I really like Shantals Resto Bar. Cheap beer, great view, good music! 🙂

  8. I love it. M goin’ to Boracay this coming 2nd week of March.
It’s a big help for me where to hang out and chill. 😉

    Thanks.

  9. Hey man! Great write-up. I’m celebrating my birthday on March 22 in Boracay, which is apparently a full moon! Will Area 51 be open then for sure? Their Facebook page hasn’t listed any events for March yet! Also, do I just tell the tricycle driver that I’m going to Area 51?? Lol so excited! Thanks ! 🙂

    • Hey Bel, thanks and yes Area 51 is always open when it’s full moon. They only cancel when there is a major calamity, such as a Typhoon.

About “do I just tell the tricycle driver that I’m going to Area 51?”:

Yes, alternatively you can also walk there by first walking to Bulabog Beach and then walking all the way to the right / south side of that beach. That’s where Area 51 is, can’t miss it.

  10. Hey paul its awesome and helpful. I want to know little bit more about boracay. Im going aug 5 for 4 days and I’m alone so how can i enjoy night life in boracay can u suggest me. Thanx

    • Hey sanuz, since the nightlife is pretty quiet in august I suggest you join some activities to meet people that you can then hang out with at night.

Pubcrawl is a great option when it comes to nightlife and making new friends, but also any other activity that you enjoy and where you’re with a group.

You can also just go out alone at night and hop from bar to bar until you find a place that’s vibing with you. I like to do that sometimes. It’s just that in august there are not that many people in the bars so opportunities to meet people are a bit limited.

That’s why I recommend to do some activities, so you have an opportunity to meet some people there.

      • A great way to meet people- especially if travelling alone- is to do the Ariels Point boat during the day for cliff jumping, drinking, and snorkeling- this is where u will see the most tourists together in one place and everyone is extra friendly- 5 hrs in one place makes you get to know new people – I have had good luck each time I do this daytime activity…..

        • Yeah good tip Mailman, thanks for pitching in. I agree, Ariel’s Point is also a great way to meet new people.

  11. Hi Paul!
Planning on coming to Boracay for the 1st time with a Friend around the 20th of November. Is this a good time to party? Or is it still slow at that time of the year?

Looking to Stay at one of the Henann hotel since we want to be in the center (station 2) but also wish to enjoy a nice resort. Any recommendation between the 3 of them? or some other resort I didn’t check yet?

What about girls? 🙂 Is there any spot where it might be easier to meet someone?

    Many thanks! Great guide!

    • You’re welcome. Late November is a good time to Party, it’s early in the season but the nightlife will have picked up then already.

I think when it comes to girls you’ll want to be in Cocomangas in Station 1, but you can meet girls anywhere really.

  12. Hey Paul! What an awesome review, very informative and useful. We’re going this August. Where is the best place for chillin with some hiphop & rnb music? Many thanks!

    • As far as I’m aware there are no places on Boracay that are dedicated to always play hiphop or r & b music. Clubs choose their music style on a night by night basis, sometimes playing hiphop. And most bars play pop, electronic or rock.

When it comes to the best place for chilling I recommend Bom Bom Bar and Treehouse. They have live acoustic bands playing all sorts of stuff, not much r & b though.

    • Hey Kris, October is the month when the white giants arrive. I mean it’s the month where you’ll start to see western vacationers appearing again in Boracay (I am one myself, but when you’re used to see only smaller people for some time, it really feels like giants are arriving 🙂

It’s still a relatively quiet month.

  13. This is great write up! Thank you. We are celebrating a birthday so we definitely know which bars and clubs to go to after dinner. Now We are set for Boracay trip this November. Yeah!!

  14. Great guide! Would you be able to recommend a bar with nice scenery view? I know it is subjective but would like a good starting point to search 🙂 could be a bar with some elevation to see the horizon etc.

    • Hi Marcus, yes, in this guide refer to Kalinga Bar and Red Pirates. You can see the scenery view from Kalinga Bar in its picture. As for Red Pirates, you don’t see the view in the picture, but you can sit on the beach there and it’s a pretty laid back place with a good view.

Another place not yet mentioned in this guide and with arguably the best sunset view is Spider House. It’s elevated also.

  15. Hi Paul looks a great guide for a Phillipine first timer such as myself. Im planning on spending a week in Boracay in April. Hoping to meet some of the locals of the opposite sex 😉 Is that a good time to visit as im a solo traveler and would be hoping there is enough action and nightlife to keep myself from getting bored.
Ive mostly traveled all over Thailand but have heard the nightlife is fairly similar in the Phillipines. Choosing Boracay as Ive been told its one of the nicest islands with great nightlife. Being a solo traveler just want to know if April is a good time to visit. Obviously im sure its nothing like the Xmas New Years high season but is there enough nightlife to keep a single man on his toes..lol

    • Hi Stan, yeah April is still high season and still good for nightlife. It’s the Philippine summer, when most Filipinos go on vacation. An advantage over Thailand here is that most Filipinos speak good English (it’s their second language), so it’s much easier to communicate and make friends.

P.S. May 1 is Labor Day. That’s when the island really goes bananas with many parties etc. To me personally that’s the only time I don’t like Boracay (too crowded), but if you like to party hard you might enjoy that time.

  16. Hey paul i would like to ask, how is nightlife on april? Great site.. it is helping aloot!!

  17. Hello Paul I’ll be heading to Boracay the end of this month with my daughter and my wife and where are the best places to hang around like slow dancing and eating seafoods? We are staying at the Hennan resort at station 2. It’s a big help for me where to bring my daughter especially this is her first time to PI. BTW we are coming from San Francisco CA. Thanks for any suggestions. Jesse

    • Hi Jesse, there isn’t much slow dancing going on in Boracay, but I take it you mean relaxing not too crazy places 🙂 For that I recommend Bom Bom Bar and Treehouse. And for a family dinner in such a place the Hobbit House can be nice also. All these places have live bands and are relaxing places to hang out.

When it comes to seafood I like to eat in Blue Jade Cafe in D’Talipapa (the seafood market).

  18. Hi Paul, thanks for the great guide. I’ll be attending a friend’s wedding in March. Any reccomendations for a nice stag do?

    • Hi Aziz, you’re welcome. I recommend to contact Manic Monkey for that. They’re one of the best specialty party organizers on the island. They also throw regular parties and events that you can join, like yacht parties etc.

  19. Awesome review and glad I came across this before heading to Boracay. The comments & replies helped a lot too. Many thanks!

  20. Hi Paul. I would like to recommend adding Galaxy to the list of clubs here. It’s also air-conditioned and has the biggest dance floor in Boracay (can accommodate 3000 people). They also have lots of events and regularly bring over popular DJs from other areas of the Philippines 🙂

  21. Hi Paul.
I am arriving with my buddy on 29th August for 8 nights.
We are basically going for the night life and water sports.
Is this a good time to go?
Will bars and clubs be busy?
Ive read some comments and it seems August/Sept is not a busy period.
Do you recommened us still coming?
I visited Boracay in April and had the best time. Hence why i am bring my friend back.
Im just worried it wont be as busy.
    Would appreacite your feedback.
Also this page is incredible , well done
    Jurg

    • Hi Jurgen, visiting Boracay in August will be a different experience. There’s still some nightlife going on but it’s definitely more low key and it gets going later in the night compared to April.

The sea will be more rough, and the weather mostly cloudy, so take that into account when planning water sports. Sailing on a paraw sailboat can be a pretty exhilarating experience on a windy day, if you’re up for that 🙂
