The Best Hostels on the Island
Frendz Resort & Hostel Boracay is an award-winning hostel located just between Stations 1 and 2, a short walk away from White Beach. The atmosphere is a good mix between partying and relaxing. And to help you save beyond your accommodation, they also offer discounts for their partner diving and kitesurfing schools.
One of the Frendz’s strong points is that they organize things do do for their guests. They hosts free pasta nights with live music every Wednesday and Sunday for example, and also weekly island-hopping tours.
Mad Monkey Hostel
Mad Monkey is a good choice if partying in Boracay is what you’re after. It has a variety of dorm rooms and private rooms, located conveniently between Stations 1 and 2, a short walk away from Bulabog Beach.
You can party your days away on their Booze Cruise featuring a private boat with DJ, go-karting tournaments, weekly Paint Parties on Monday nights, and pool parties on Sundays and Thursdays. And after all that partying, you can wind down at their in-house spa retreat. That’s a pretty complete package 🙂
Located on the quieter Diniwid beach, Chillax Flashpackers is a good choice if you want to be away from the busy center of Boracay, but still close to the beach. It’s an eco-friendly hostel in that their rooms and even their pool are built from shipping containers, and other recycled materials.
The place has a laid back roof deck, bar and grill, games room, and even a cinema. The roof deck is also home to a small dog, mixing up the crowd diversity with man’s best friend.
W Hostel Boracay
W Hostel Boracay is a clean and modern hostel located right in the middle of Boracay, so it’s easy to get to White Beach, D-Mall and a variety of restaurants on foot.
Its highlight of is the rooftop pool with seating area – a great place to kick back and relax. The facilities are also well thought out, as each bed has its own privacy curtain, reading light, charging port, and also allocated locker.
The Best Affordable Hotels in Station 1
Although Station 1 is known for being the most luxurious part of White Beach, it has a fair amount of cheap hotels as well. The places I’ve included here offer great value for the price.
Sur Beach Resort
Sur is a good choice is you’re looking for a budget beachfront property at an affordable price. Decorated in a tropical style with homely vibes, it offers spacious rooms with a Family Room option that accommodates 4.
Although the place doesn’t have a pool, it makes up for it with a laid back beachfront bar with several cabanas, and plenty of tables and chairs where you can spend a lazy afternoon.
Jony’s Boutique Hotel
Jony’s Boutique Hotel is a sister property to the more well-known Jony’s Beach Resort. It has clean, basic rooms at even more affordable rates. The two properties aren’t located next to each other though; do keep that in mind so you don’t head to the wrong place.
The hotel is just a 2-minute walk away from the Station 1 beach front, and you’re greeted with the same warm hospitality that Jony’s Resort is known for.
Hannah Hotel is a good choice if you like to stay in an artistically designed place with a homey vibe. It’s owned by a friendly family – and that really shows by the care that they put into running the place. They even serve you their own home cooked breakfast.
It’s located in a quiet area, about a 5 minute walk from White Beach.
The Best Budget Hotels in Station 2
These 4 places are easy on your wallet, while still providing good comfort and cleanliness. Starting rates for their rooms fall in between ~₱2469 (~USD $48) and ~₱2881 (~USD $56).
Victory Divers Resort
Victory Divers Resort is a basic, affordable accommodation located in between Station 2 and Station 3, within easy reach of the D’Talipapa market and various nightlife hotspots.
It’s also next to their dive shop, so you won’t have to look far if scuba diving in Boracay is on your wish list. The dive shop also has a bar, restaurant and coconut stand, so you can enjoy a refreshing post-dive beer 🙂
Deparis Beach Resort
Deparis is a good budget choice that still provides all the basics you need to be comfortable. Service is good, and rooms are cleaned every day without the need to request for it.
Theey also offers daily complimentary breakfast, as well as an affordably priced dinner buffet that attracts a good crowd every night.
Resorts on or near Boracay’s beachfront tend to cost more, but not Seabird Resort. Clean and spacious rooms are available at affordable rates, even though the hotel is only a one minute walk from the beach. It’s also close to D’Mall and many of the bars and restaurants.
Hey Jude Resort
Hey Jude is a good budget option if you’re traveling in a big group. The rooms are not only spacious and clean, there’s also the option of booking connecting rooms with doors in between, so you’ll always be within easy reach of your friends!
You can also enjoy Hey Jude’s complimentary breakfast at their rooftop dining area, where the pleasant breeze accompanying your meal offers some welcome air cooling 🙂
The Best Cheap Hotels in Station 3
These 4 places are easy on your wallet, while still providing good comfort and cleanliness. Starting rates for their rooms fall in between ~₱2181 (~USD $42) and ~₱3034 (~USD $58).
Anahaw Studio Suites
Less than 100m away from the beachfront is Anahaw Studio Suites, which provides self-contained accommodation at affordable rates.
The suites are newly renovated, so you’ll enjoy spacious rooms with modern and clean designs throughout. The kitchenettes inside give you the option of cooking if you’re staying for a longer period, otherwise, the place is located close to plenty of good restaurants as well.
Greenyard Inn is located just 3 minutes from the beach, so it’s close to everything yet very quiet. It has a garden and walkway with lush greenery, which adds to the feeling of peace.
The rooms are spacious and clean, yet more affordable than most hotels in the area. You can choose between bigger rooms with balconies overlooking the garden on the first floor, or the smaller rooms downstairs that have small terraces.
Blue Coral Resort
When it comes to budget accommodation that offers great value for money, Blue Coral Resort is one of the very best options available. It’s located just off the Station 3 beachfront.
There’s no need to pay more for a beachfront property with Blue Coral. The room entrances face a side street close to where the street meets the beach, so all you have to do is walk out of your room to get a picture-perfect view of the ocean 🙂
Blue Ocean Boutique Hotel
Blue Ocean is a budget accommodation with 12 cozy rooms just 5 minutes away from the beach. It’s also steps away from the main road so getting a tricycle is easy, plus you’ll also find several convenience stores nearby.
If you want to tick ‘having a drink at sunset’ off your list, this is also a good place to do it as the place has a guests-only rooftop skybar.
